MINISTER INTERESTED ADMIRER From Our Own Correspondent. NAPIER, May 22. An interested admirer of the facilities provided along the Napier Marine Parade for the people’s recreation and f enjoyment was the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, on Thursday night. After receiving several deputations, Mr Parry* spent some time on the Parade admiring the efficiency and agility of the young folk in the management of their skates. “The controlling authorities,” remarked Mr Parry yesterday, “merit great credit for their work ou tho I’arade. It appeals to mo more than I can tell you. The lay-out of that beautiful sea-front for the sight-seeing
and comfort of tho people lias been wonderfully done—it is a splendid job p inspiring alike to the mind and tho imagination. * “x am an enthusiastic believer «n our cities and towns providing all possible facilities for health-giving recreation and exercise of the young manhood and womanhood of our country,” be added. ‘‘Napier is in the forefront of many parts of the Dominion in what she has done in this way. The happy and picturesque scene I witnessed last evening of the young folk I skating amid the reflections from the coloured spray of the fountain and ! lights which festoon the Parade was • | one to remain in memory.”
