MUNITIONS PROGRAMME DEMANDS RAW MATERIALS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 8,5 p.m. TOKIO, April 26. The Chugai Shogyo says the acute shortage of shipping is soaring shipping rates and seriously hampering the importation of Japan’s raw material requirements which are swollen by the quasiwartime munitions programme. It is estimated that the 1937 requirements include: Wool, 800,000 bales; pig iron, 400,000 tons; scrap iron, 1,200,000 tons; ore, 1,700,000 tons; cotton, 4,000,000 bales.
