Mostly Fair to Fine Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An intense anti-cyclone still covers lb- New Zealand area but a depression of. moderate intensity has developed over the north-western portion of the Tasman Sea with its centre south of Lord Howe Island. Winds: South-easterly at first on parts of the east coast of tho North Island and in Cook tetrait area, otherwise north-easterly to northerly prevailing, strong in the far north and elsewhere light to moderate but gradually freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters): Hough north of East Cape with a heavy easterly swell, elsewhere slight to moderate Eastern Tasman Sea: North-easterly winds, strong in the northern portion with rather rough to rough seas; light to moderate but later freshening in southern portion with moderate seas. Weather: Fair to fine in most parts but some scattered rain probable in the far north, later clouding over in western and southern districts. Temperatures: Becoming .gradually warmer.
