Infant Drowned in Lagoon
SLIPPED DOWN BANK INTO WATER Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Colin Leslie James Aitken, aged two years and two months, a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. P. Aitken, of Waikuku beach, was found drowned in a lagoon at the beach about noon to-day. At the inquest the coroner (Mr. H. A. Young) returned a verdict that the child had been accidentally drowned. Constable J. P. Simmonds said he had examined the bank of the lagoon and found marks indicating that the child had slipped down a three-foot bank into the water.
