Britain’s Coinage SWEEPING CHANGES. LONDON, March 21. The most sweeping changes in Britain’s coinage history have been announced by a Royal proclamation in the London Gazette, including new designs for all coins, also two distinct types of shillings, one bearing the 1 Royal Crest of Scotland as a compli-l ment to Queen Elizabeth, and a new mixed metal threepenny piece as the first additions to the coinage since 1887. 1 The new currency is being minted immediately after Easter in time for' I the Coronation.
