From Our Own Correspondent. Euchre and Dance. -The Coronation Hail, Rongotea, was crowded on Wednesday evening, when from near and far to celcPatrick’s Day. An excellent ™\ h ® st £ a supplied bright dance music *? d , a bountitui supper was provided by the ladies in charge of tho arrangements. The prize winners in the euchre tournaiss F. Pi'ice, Feilding, and Mr R. Corbett, first, and Miss Mabel Robinson and Mr V. Nix second Two competitions were held, the prizes being a hamper and a goose. Mr J. Aird won the hamper and Mrs C. Leen, the goose. The winners of 'the Monte Carlo waltz were Mis 3 Duffy and Mr Cribb. the Gay (Jordons were won by Miss Mabel Robinson and Mr E. O’Brien, and the lucky spot dance by Miss Mabel Robinson and Mr Burton. An instance of the vagaries of the weather is to be seen in the garaen of Mrs McKay, on the Duncan Estate, Jones’ line, Rongotea. Several gooseberry bushes have pi*oduced second crops wnleh, though not heavy, are sufflclenttly large to be made use of.
