Manawatu Golf Club Opens Season
MIXED FOURSOME ATTRACTED FIELD OF OVER A HUNDRED NET 73 WAS WINNING CARD. The Manawatu Golf Club was favoured with ideal weather for tho opening of the 1937 season and the competition, a mixed foursome, attracted a field of over one hundred. The Hokowhitu course was in perfect order and some good cards were handed in, the best being that of Mrs A. E. Hansel and A. Snell, who completed in 73 net. Next in order of merit were the cards of W. A. Petersen and Miss Wason, K. S. Glendinning and Mrs Webster and W. Seifert and Miss Seifert. The leading scores were as under:— A. Snell and Mrs Hansel, 93 —20 —73. W. A. Peterson and Miss Wason, 96—21—75.
K. S. Glendinning and Mrs Webster, 88—12—76. W. Seifert and Miss Seifert, 84 — 8—76. J. Al. Taylor and Mrs Brown, 94 — 16—78. E. Fletcher and Miss Moffatt, 93 15—78. H. R. Whitehead and Airs Whitehead, 96—18—78. A. J. l'hillipps and Dr. Gillies, 106 — 28—78. A. Seifert and Miss Hclcan, 84 — 5—79. E. R. Chapman and Airs E. Wilson, 93—14—79. L. Al. Abraham and Mrs Abraham, 96 —17—79. Campbell and Miss Dudding, 94 15—79. Stableford Bogey. Following is the result of the Stableford bogey handicap, jilayed at Hokowhitu during the week-end:— E. R. Chapman and D. McKenzie 43 points, W. A. Petersen and Al. D. Loftus 43, O. H. Williams and Greenbank i 43, C. Louisson and G. Al. AlcCaskill 41, H. E. Fairey and E. Fletcher 40.
