D ANNE VIRILE DEFEATS FEELDING. The annual cricket match between the first eleven* of Feilding Agncul tural ttiga ttchuul and Dannevirke High School was played at Feilding on Tuesday, the visitors winning on the first innings. Dannevirke batted lirst ami made 74, Paewai (15), Breach (13;, bonk (Ik) and Hansen (11; being topscorers. Owing to a strip oi uncut grass just inside the bounuary only a Pali lilted into the air registered a lour. Dannevirke s score included only live boundaries and was made In two and a-quarter hours. k eiluing s inuiugs was a complete collapse, the side being dismissed tor a tola! of 13 runs. Wnitmore and Askew bowled unchanged lor Dannevirke and scarcely required the assistance oi field era, bowling nine oi the opposing team. Asaew bowled 10 overs, eight being maidens, taking live wickets lor three runs. Whitmore bowled 11 overs—six maidens, lour wickets, six runs. Dannevirke made use oi the remaining tune to gain some batting experience and some vigorous hitting resulted in a quick total oi 129, including JU lours and two sixes.
