Mr H. Christie, M.P. (Government) for Waipawa, will address a meeting in the Foresters’ Hall, on Monday, March 15. He will give an outline of what has been accomplished by Labour since its occupancy of the Treasury benches and will also deal with future legislative proposals of the Government. Mr T. Clarke, headmaster of the Pali iatua District High School, reports that the school roll had now resumed its normal position after the holidays. The roll at the secondary department had been greatly strengthened, there being some 50 pupils this year as against 32 in 1936. Mr Clarke stated also that the primary department had also shown a substantial increase, there being now an additional assistant on the staff.
