Feilding High School
BOARD OF MANAGERS MEETING Tho Board of Managers of the Feilding Agricultural High School met on Wednesday evening, Air J. Knight, (chairman) presiding. There were also present Messrs A. C. Buist, T. S. Goldsmith, L J. Wild (principal), T. L. Seddon, H. Mclntyre, W. Challis, W. W. Andrews, W. A. Salt, A. Campbell and Mrs J. E. Barltrop. It was doeided to approach the Feilding Borough Council with a request that the charge for tho water supply to the school be remitted. Tho principal pointed out that tho town was benefiting to the extent of a revenuo of £60,000 per annum from the school hostel account and he considered that it was only right that the Borough should give the water free of charge to the school.
The Principal read the following report on the farm operations:— “All grain crops are now in stack, without undue loss considering the season. There aro four good stacks of wheat, four of oat sheaf and one of barley. Autumn ploughing is well under way. Pastures and root crops are in good condition and all stock are doing well. Some further drainage work is under way on Manawanui, and u further subdivisional fencing in Atkinson's and Gamma is contemplated. Cuttings from tho playing fields aro saved in a silo made of sheets of corrugated iron. Since my last report Air Geo. Mitchell has given up his position as teamster in order to sock fresh fiields further north. I have appointed Air Trevor Allen, another old bov, in his place."
