The four-inch waierma'.n in Manavratu street has been extended for a length of 11 chains, and a four-inch main laid in Thompson street from Douglas street to College street, a distance of 11 chains, linking up with the existing mains, it was reported to the City Council last night. To date the contractor* have laid 185 chains of 21 in. diameter concrete lined steel supply mains. The trenches for the remaining section are opened up in readiness for the lavinv of the pipes.
