A London cable message announces the death of Joseph Hocking, novelist. Rev. Father Foley, of Masterton, will be taking over St. Mary’s Parish, Foxton, at the end of this month. Rev. Father Rohan has already left for Patea. Visitors welcomed by the Palmerston North Lunch Club yesterday were Messrs. H. Court (Sydney), R. McKenzie (Carnarvon), S. F. Whitehorn (Wellington).
