Rongomai

The Rongomai cricket team played their first match against Tlraumea last weekend and tho Tlraumea team proved more experienced than Rongomai. coming out the winners by a comfortable margin In a good game. The scores were: Rongomai, first innings, 59, second innings, 110; Tiraumea, 141 for seven wickets, declared. The visitors were most hositably entertained in the hall. Mr W. Pearson, Rongomai’s captain, thanked the ladies and also tho Tiraumea team for the most enjoyable day. A return match is hoped for in the near future. Mr C. Raleigh replied on behalf of the Tiraumea team. Mrs H. Sellens, Wellington, and Mrs H. Baines, Feiiding, both old pupils of the Eketahuna School, were at Clivedale during the Jubilee celebrations. Miss Weavers is spending a vacation as the guest of Mr and Mrs C. Schnell. Miss Thompson had a pleasant surprise over the week-end when her brothers, Norman and Walter, and her sister, Miss D. Thompson, and mother, paid her a visit. Mrs T. Thompson and Miss Thompson will spend a fortnight in Rongomai. Mrs Hart, of Carterton, is the guest of Mr and Mrs D. Gustofsen. Miss Jean Edwards, of Fearherston, was the guest of her sister, Mrs L. Eagle, during tho Jubilee. Miss P. Lowes has been spending a week at Fairburn, Masterton. Miss Eileen Johansen, of Takapau, is the guest of Miss Thompson.
