Mania for Test Cricket
HAS EFFECT ON STATE GAMES. Received Tuesday, 11.30 pan. SYDNEY, Feb. 16. Neville Cardus, writing in the Bun similarly to Hobbs on the poor attendances at SState matches in which England is engaged, says this sad stite of things has been caused by the mania ior test cricket which battens on the game like some moloch devouring its own young. If the public stay away from ordinary games and if players in these games use them as moments of relaxation, then how are future test match cricketers to be bred and made accustomed to the atmosphere of important and challenging cricket? Everything in this world perishes where high finance is the first and main consideration.
