PRISONER COMMITTED TO BORSTAL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 15. Clifford George Returners, labourer and printer, aged 19, found guilty with a very strong recommendation to mercy of knowingly being in possession of forged Reserve Bank five pound notes, uttering four notes and attempting to utter one, was sentenced to-day by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) to two years’ detention in a Borstal institute. Sir Michael Myers said the prisoner yy « being shown the utmost leniency. In England this offence was regarded as extremely serious.
