Maori Enters Wrong Pool at Rotorua
SUCCUMBS TO FATAL SCALDS. (Special to “Times.”) ROTORUA, Last Night. An elderly native, Mutu Kapene, aged about 60 years, who was discovered crawling in great agony through some tall grass in the vicinity of some bathing pools at Ohinemutu in the early hours of Saturday morning succumbed to severe scalds in the Rotorua Hospital to-day. Kapene apparently went for a bathe but in the darkness went into the wrong pool. He entered a particularly hot pool which feeds the pools used for bathing by the Maoris.
