Chinese Woman Doctor
The first Chinese woman medical doctor, Dschamei Kin, recently celebrated her 75th birthday. She graduated in New York, and was called, home by her Government, which put her in charge
of a hospital and clinic for women in North China. Hero Dr. Dschamei Kin did pioneer work. Apart from her administrative duties, she had to train the nurses and doctors, organise tho ambulance and dispensing work, and rebuild tho ramshackle buildings in which these services were housed entirely.
The hospital became the place from which modern methods of hygiene and surgery spread all over the country, through a nucleus of young nurses and practitioners, many of whom, following tho example of their teacher, went to Europe aud tho United States to complete their medical education.-
