Parts of Launch Cast up on Beaches
FEARS FOR SAFETY OF FISHERMAN Per Press Association. NELSON, Last Night. Anxiety is felt for the safety of Mr. S. L. Smith, a fisherman who left Nelson on Wednesday morning in a fishing iaunch for Hekekenui and has not re turned. Ho was last seen off Kaiteriteri by Mr. Cedric Edmondson at 12.20 p.m. on Wednesday when Edmonson left. .Smith was then drawing iu his lines. He was four mites off shore. The weather is thick, with a slight nor’-west swell. Tho launch is 22ft. long, painted white, with a alate-col-oured deck. It is installed with a 4h.p. engine. Smith was wearing a blue woolen jersey, denim trousers and guru boots. Later reports state that Darts of a launch have bceu found ou the sea side of Haulashore Island, and sonic of the equipment, such as lines and boom, which have been identified by fishermen as belonging to Smith's launch, have been found on boulder bank, near the lighthouse. Tho search is being continued
