Hawke’s Bay Autumn Show
SCHEDULE OF CLASSES. All interested in tho Hfcv.ke’s B.ay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Autumn Show, which will take place on Thursday, March 18, are notified t2at the schedule is now available and that copies may bo received from the secretary, Air A. AI. Retermeyer, Church lane, Napier, or from Air F. C. Wilkinson, Queen street, Hastings. Quito a number of new classes have been added, including a class for grade Jersey heifer born since July 1, 1935, also a class for a pair. In tho horse competitions a class has been added for handy hunters’ competition, and in the axemen’s events the Bociety has been allocated a New Zealand champion chop. Owing to the disastrous frost, a class has been added lor best emergency crop grown by a registered orchardist to be judged at the orchard, also a class for vegetables or roots to be judged at the show. As in the past, tho schedule is a most ■comprehensive one and includes sections for calves and yearling dairy cattle, pet lambs, butter and cheese, preserves, etc. (open and novice), eggs, honey (open and novice), bread, *-.ikes, scones, etc. (ojien and novice), women’s institutes, fruit, vegetables (open and schools), field classes for mangolds, potatoes and maize, roots, grain ar.d seeds, Maori industries, poultry (fancy and utility), horticultural, dogs and numerous competitions, including apple packing, dog trial, dancing and piping, axemen’s events and horse competitions. Exhibitors in the dog section and competitors in the axemen’s events should note that separate schedules arc issued for these sections, and when writing should state their requirements. Separate poultry schedules are also available.
