AERO CLUB MEETING. At a meeting of the committee oi tho Wairarapa-Rualiine Aero Club tl?e flying report for tho month showed a substantial increase in hours over the corresponding period of last year, the total of 75 hours being 22 hours 1U minutes greater thau that for January, 1936. Tho total Hying hours to January 31 were neariy 100 hours m excess of the figures ior the corresponding period of last year. During the .#jntfi a considerable amount of flying instruction was given at Alastertou and Dannevirke, while over 10 hours were put in by tho club’s machines in the search for tho missing ’plane ZK—ACH at. Karfoi. Three trainees made their first solo flights during the month. Thirtysix cross-country flights were made. It was decided to organise a flying display at Dannevirke ou March 20, in conjunction with the Dannevirke Airport Association. Nine ex-servicemen lQsident in this district have applied ior inclusion in tho contingent to go to England for tho Coronation of King George VI., all being line types of men. The applications—which are all from members ot the Dannevirke Returned Soldiers’ Association—have been forwarded to headquarters and will be placed in the ballot box next week with those from elsewhere.
