The following transfers were approved at the monthly meeting of the Dannevirke County Council. A. C. Chaytor to Christopher Logan; Estate Mary E. Donghi to George Donghi; Estate H. Westlake to George A. Gates; J. Boyte to Lionel E. Boyte; Estate R. J. Willan to Agnes Willan; A. H. Mitchell to Mary Le Fevre; Estate Sarah Smith to C. W. and A. H. Mitchell. NURSES’ EXAMINATION. ALL DANNEVIRKE CANDIDATES PASS. Dannevirke candidates did very well at the examination for pupil nurses held in December, every one passing. The results are announced by the Nurses and Midwives Registration Board. Passes were obtained by Misses M. E. Denbee, K. M. Giles, J. E. Luttrell and P, E. Wood, all of whom were on the staff of the Dannevirke public hospital. Miss P. McNicol, of Dannevirke, who is on the staff of the New Plymouth public hospital, also passed. PIG AND POULTRY SALE. R. Roake and Son report on their sale as follows: —Pigs yarded in good pumbers, most of the pens being full. Small weaners buyers were inclined to neglect a little, but slii>s were in good demand. Small weaners made 12s to 14s, medium 15s, slips 18s, 19s 6d 20s to 20s 6d. Poultry: There was a medium yarding and realisations were about the usual. Pigeons la pr., W.L. cockerels Is 3d, 8.0. cockerels 2s 2d to 3s, 8.0. roosters 3s, W.L. hens Is lOd to 2s 6d, ducks and drakes 2s Id to 2s 6d, 4-weeks roosters 3d to 4d, DANNEVIRKE STOCK SALE, The Hawke's Buy Farmers' Co-op. Association, Ltd., report on the Dannevirke sale held on Thursday; We offered a large yarding of all classes of lambs and a small yarding of cattle to a good attendance. Prices obtained were in harmony with the wool market, being the highest realised for many years. Prices: —Fat ewes 17s 6d, woolly S.D. rape lambs (good) 19s 6d to £1 Is 6d; S.D. lambs, 16s 6d to 19s; shorn wether lambs, 19s to £1 0s Id; medium ■wether lambs, 15s to 18s; smaller sorts, 12s 6d to 1.55; ewe lambs, £1 Is to £1 5s 7d. Fat cows, £3 10s to £5; bulls, £3 5s to £5. Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having offered a very heavy yarding of sheep principally lambs, and a fair yarding of cattle to a big attendance of local and West Coast buyers. The entry included annual drafts of lambs from local and coast farmers, and all lots met with strong demand, competition being maintained throughout the sale. Prices realised were well up to recent sale rates, as Esq., Wimbledon: 225 b.f. lambs, 21s 2d; 100 b.f. lambs, 21s Id; 100 medium shorn w. lambs, 16s 9d. A/c. W. E. Simmons, Esq., Mangatoro: 176 wed. lambs, 19s 6d; 37 ewe lambs, 225; 69 b.f. lambs, 18s lid. A/c Giblin Estate: 110 shorn wed. lambs, 19s; 134 rued. wed. lambs, 16s 9d; 101 ewe lambs, 23s Bd. A/c. F. R. McLean, Maharahara: 126 shorn b.f. lambs, 20s 3d. A/c. Estate A. B. Knight: 100 shorn wed. lambs, 19s 2d; 205 shorn wed. lambs, 18s lOd.

Other prices were:—Heavy fat wethers, 26s 7d to 275; fat lambs, 24s lOd; medium fat ewes, 22s to 23s 6d; good wed. lambs, 18s to 20s; medium wether lambs, 15s to 18s; small wed. lambs, 10s to 14s; medium ewe lambs, 19s to 23s Sd; small ewe lambs, 15s to 18s; 77 forward 2-th wed. 24s 4d; 50 2-th weds., 23s 7d; 67 2-th wed. 23s 9d. Cattle: Fat Jersey cows and heifers, £3 2s Gd to £4 9s; fat Hereford cows and heifers, £7 9s; springing Jersey cows, £4 2s 6d to £6; Jersey cows in milk, £3 10s to £5 12s 6d; Jersey cow* and calves, £2 18s to £4 11s; store cows, £3 7s 6d. Tho N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having offered a fair yarding of store and rape iambs to a large attendance of the public. Competition was keen on all lines, every lot being sold at prices well up to outside markets. Prices realised:— Good b.f. rape lambs, 21s 3d; good shorn wether lambs, 19s lid; medium b.f. lambs, 15s Bd, 16s 9d to 17s 6d; medium shorn wether lambs, 13s 6d ft) 15s 3d; 2-tooth wethers, 22s 2d to 24s 3d; small ewe lambs, 17s to 17s 6d; good dairy heifers at drop, £5 to £5 10s; fat Jersey cows, £3 15s to £5; store Jersey cows to £3 6s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having sold the following:—lo2 woolly b.f. lambs at £1; 60 ewe lambs from 18s 6d to 21s lOd; 4 fat lambs at 255; 30 small wether lambs 10s 2d to 11s; 60 2-tooth b.f. wethers, 24s sd. Fat Jersey cows from £4 12s 6d to £5 £ fat Hereford cows at £6 15s.
