Popular Sandon Couple Married
GRACE—KILPATRICK. An exceptionally pretty wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, on Alonday, January 11, the contracting parties being Joyce, only daughter of Air and Airs A. Kilpatrick, of Foxton line, Sanson, and DonOvan Wilfred, eldest son of Air au3 Airs Frank Grace, “Pinegrove,” Sanson. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward. The bride entered tne church with her father, wearing a graceful gown of rich ivory tinted satin made on simple sweeping lines, the shirring on the skirt failing into a full train. The sleeves were shirred on the shoulders, while the neck was finished with shirring and orange blossoms. She wore a beautiful veil of Brussels lace, lent by an aunt, and carried a sheaf of white gladioli, gypsophila, and stock. The bridesmaid, Alisa Donna Seccombe wore a frock of soft pink cloquc, shirred at the waist and shoulders. Pink tulle and silver leaves formed a Juliet cap, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses, carnations and gladioli. Little Ruth Harris, who was the flower girl, wore a dainty frock of pink georgette, with shirred yoke, shirring on the shoulders and puff sleeves. She carried a ball of roses and carnations. Air C. L. Grace, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony, the guests were entertained at a reception at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame’s tea-rooms. The tables looked very attractive with vases of pink and blue sweet peas, while on the bridal table was a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake, made by Airs James Harris, of Sanson.
Airs Kilpatrick received her guests wearing a smart navy and white model ensemble, with navy accessories, and carried a posy of red carnations and red berries. Airs Frank Grace was wearing an attractive gown of blistered crepe, with navy accessories and carried a posy of pink roses. Airs Stait (Auckland), grandmother of the bride, wore a black model suit with silver grey accessories and spray of red carnations and berries. When Air and Airs Donovan Grace left on a motor tour of the north, the bride was wearing a smart ensemble of French suede. The frock was an American model of powder blue, with navy blue accessories.
