The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board advises that the following were the approximate average prices realised for the past week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield Market, and/or ex London Stores (prices for the previous week are also shown): — New Zealand sheep: Crossbred wethers and/or maiden ewes, 48/under 5 5-8 d per lb. (ssd), 49/56 5 1-Sd (53d), 57/34 4 7-Sd (sd), 65/72 4 5-Sd (43d); ewes, 48/under 4 l-8d (43d), 49/56 3 7-8 d (4), 57/64 3 7-Sd (3 7-Sd), 65172 £2d (3 7-Sd). New Zealand lambs: Canterbury, not ciuoted. North Island Downs, 36/under 7 5-Sd (73d), 37/42 7 3-8 d (73d); second quality, average about 30 7 3-8 d (7 3-Sd); North Island, first quality, 36/under-7 3-8 d (7*d), 37/42 73d (73d); second quality, average about 31 7Jd (TJd). Lamb market: With heavier Australian arrivals and demand remaining quiet, prices shade easier. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes, values slightly easier. Beef market: Frozen beef market steady and unchanged. Chilled beef: Owing to lighter supplies this week prices have advanced. New Zealand porker pigs: Meeting with good trade at the better prices. New Zealand baconer pigs: Market cuiet.
