Of Local Interest

Yesterday two Borough Council men were kept busy cutting the very long crass in the Main street squares. Over the Christmas period the lawns were not touched, and with the phenomenal growth made the cutting is a very hard and warm job. A new tent had been pitched at the rear of Beale's fish shop for the Christmas holidays. It was unoccupied on New Year's Eve, and when the children went out to play in the early morning, to their surprise the tent had disappeared. Some sneak thief is responsible as all the tying-down ropes had been cut. The police have the matter in hand.
