The chief o" Giree simultaneous insurgent attacks was on tho Boadilla sector, to the north-west of Madrid, Moors and newly-arrived Germans making a charge in which they were supported by tanks and aircraft. The loyalists were successful after five hours, killing 200. Sydney Henry Holland, who recently came to Sp'ain with other British airmen, was killed on the Vittoria front when rebel fighters repulsed a loyalist attack. Holland's aeroplane, which w.as piloted by a Russian, with a Spanish observer, was brought dowa by machine-gun fire and he was ineinorated.

Continual Stream of Germans to Spain FRANCO WANTS 60,000 TO WIN WAR Received Thursday, 1 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 16. The Telegrapn’s diplomatic correspondent states there are persistent rumours that the Catalan Republican party is attempting to negotiate with General Franco for a separate peace in return for guarantees that the' Nationalists will recognise the complete independence of the territory.
