“TIMES” WEATHER REPORT
Fine and Warm WELLINGTON, Last Night. The depression which was located on the Tasman Sea has apparently filled up and an anti-eyclone is moving on to the Dominion. A shallow depression is advancing on / to south-eastern Australia and another one is situated north-west of Norfolk Island. Winds: Light to moderate southerly to south-easterly over the northern portion of the North Island, later backing to easterlies and freshening; elsewhere variable with south-westerly to northwesterly predominating, strong at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits but otherwise light to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough about Foveaux Strait and rather rough in parts of the Cook Strait area, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate but freshening easterly winds in the far northern portion with moderate to rather rough seas; elsewhere light to moderate variable winds tending northerly with slight to moderate seas. Weather: For the most part line with warm day temperatures but fine scattered showers in south Westland and the extreme south and Jater some rain developing in North Auckland.
