Perfect Vehicle for A Popular Star

“GRAND JURY” ORIGINAL STORY FOR FRED STONE (State: Screening To-day.) A perfect vehicle for its popular star is “Grand Jury,” -which presents that grand old man of the stage, Fred Stone, in a story of a private citizen’s daring, lone-wolf clean-up of a city infested with racketeers. Stone portrays a public-minded citien, furious at this miscarriage of justice, who tries to clinch evidence against the killer. His efforts enrage the bos racketeer to a point of neardeath for the would-be public benefactor. As a balance for its tense moments the film is well supplied with comedy which gives Stone a chance to score with his distinctive humour.
