The executive of the Terrace End Progressive Association last evening passed a vote of sympathy with its secretary, Mr. G. G. Priest, in the death of his brother at Timaru. <s> <S> <S> <*>

The City Council is to be asked by the Terrace End Progressive Association to establish a branch library in the suburb in accordance with the recommendations of the city librarian.

Nash, when recommending at a meeting of the Terrace End Progressive Association last evening, that the suburb was worthy of a more euphonius appellation. "It is not very edifying now that we have parks and bowling greens." He thought the association might ask citizens to suggest a more suitable name. The recommendation was adopted, the chairman, Mr. F. J. Oakley, agreeing that the present name was not a pretty one.
