VICAR’S VIGIL.—To speed up the recently-launched million-shilling fund for the extension of the crypt to St. Martin ’s-in-the-Field, the vicar, the Rev. P. McCormick, has decided to sit continuously on the steps of tho church with a collecting chest at his side until he has personally collected 100,000 shilling s. He intended to carry out the office work of the church while he waited, and even his meals were served to him on the steps. He is seen at the commencement of his vigil on November 9.
