Mother and Seven Children Burned to Death

DOG UPSETS PETROL TIN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 7.5 p.m. OTTAWA, Dec. 6. A message from Chicoutimi, Quebec, states that seven children and their convalescing mother who vainly attempted to reseuo them were burned to death in the flames of a petrol explosion which swept their little isolated farm home. A dog upset a petx-ol can in the woodshed and one of the family who went to investigate lit a match. The father tried ineffectually to extinguish the flames with a horse blanket. He and a daughter aged 18, also a baby, escaped alive.
