Rangitikei-Cheltenham Rifle Association. The fifth annuaJi meeting of the above association was held in Bulls. Mr K. W. Dalrymple presided over a good attendance. The balance-sheet showed that the association is in a satisfactory financial position. It was decided to hold the annual handicap meeting at Bulls on Anniversary Bay, Friday, January 22, 1937, and that entries would close on January 19. An attractive programme was drawn up and will be as follows: Bulls Match (300 yards) and Service Match over the same distance; Waitatapia Match (SUO yards); Sanson-Ohakea Match (600 yards); Cheltenham Handicap Cup and aggregate best scores in 300, 600 and 600 yards matches, open to. competitors who receive three or more points handicap; Rangitikel Grand Championship Belt and aggregate best score off the rifle over 300, 500 and 600 yards matches; four men teams match for b'onafide members of one rifle club only, score off the vrifle in matches 300, 500 and 600 yards, the winners to hold the Rangitikei Defence Rifle Club’s Shield; eight men teams match (handicap), same conditions as the four men teams match, the winners to hold the Newman-Sanson-Ohakea Cup. An optional aggregate will be over 500 and 600 yards, with a special entrance of 6s. Competitors will be issued with free ammunition or may use their own. Targets will be black and white. Broughton, L. Huddleston, H. Meads, D. P. Thorby, ii. B. McKenzie, J. B. Robins (Bulls), P. Soler (Wanganui), S. Mayhew and R. Stuart (Cheltenham); hony secretary, Miss B. Wilson (Bulls); hon. treasurer, Mr J.-B. Robins (Bulls). Parewanui Boy Scouts. S.M. R. Hooper and R.S.L. A. Slessor paid a visit to tho Parewanui troop on Saturday afternoon and found tho troop' there in a flourishing condition. Their ecoutmaster, Mr R. Marumaru, is now fit and well again, and the boys are'very pleased to have him back among them. Some twelve members of .tho troop will, be camping with Marton, and are : keenly-looking'forward-(o the adventure. Scoutmaster Marjrmar.u will aiso.be with them.. Calf-rearing Competition. On Wcdnesday i afternoon, Messrs. Stafford and Masters . attended tho Bulls School to judgo the calf-rearing; There were only three competitors, the placing being: Dorothy Hannah 1, Peter Anderson 2, Shelia Signal 3. For the cleanest looking calf, - Peter Anderson was first, Dorothy. Hapnali second, and Shelia Signal third.
