Prizes won at Central Gala
At the Central School gala on Wednesday prizes were awarded for several special classes. Decorated Bicycle.—Boys: Joo Capworthy 1, John Alackay 2; special, school motto, Bernard Wanklyn. Girls: Patty Armstrong 1, Eunice Lewis 2; special, school motto, Noreen Siddells. Decorated tricycle.—Boys: Donald Richard 1, John Langdale 2. Girls: Eunice Aiken 1, Betty Graham 2, Decorated Pram.—Alargaret Kenyon 3, Jean Hardie 2. Decorated Cart. —lan Luxmore. Pony (special prize).—Colin Watson. Home-made Sweets (judges, Airs. W. J. Croucher and Airs. H. Palmer). — Pat Eglinton 1. Sponges: Necia Larsen 1, Eileen Robertson 2, Kyra Hearsey h.c. Baby Show (judges, tho Mayoress, Airs. A. E. Alansford and Airs. Palmer). —Under six months: Girl, June Butler; boy, Dennis Skelton. Six and under 12 months: Girl, Ellery Bennett; boy, Lawrence AlcDonald. Twelve and under 18 months: Girl, Frances Lewis; boy, Bryan Oliver. Airs. Alansford commented that it was the best baby show' she had ever judged. Tho ‘‘mystery lady” was found by Alaster Billy Burt. An exhibition of Highland dancing by pupils of Aliss June Scott gave pleasure.
