Stormy, But Improving
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A very deep cyclonic depression is centred east of Otago and is moving south-eastward. The pressure is high over the north Tasman Sea but a fresh depression is located over the western Tasman. Winds: West to south-west from Nelson and Marlborough northwards; elsewhere southerly to south-westerly strong generally and of gale to strong gale force in many places but decreasing to-morrow. Seas (New Zealand waters): High about the central portion of the Dominion; rather rough north of East Cape; elsewhere rough. Eastern Tasman Sea; Strong southwesterly winds and rough seas but winds later veering westerly or in places north-westerly, and conditions moderating. Weather: Stormy and changeable with further intermittent rain in most districts and in places hail and thunder; some light snow on the ranges. Temperatures: Cool, with conditions improving gradually.
