Mrs. Alec-Tweedie stated, in an interview, that she had been quoted a price for her proposed tour and had considered it too high. As a result she had arranged her own, hiring a private car, and had done the journey at onethird of the quoted cost. “I have my receipts to prove it," she said. She travelled overland from Auckland, Jby way of Rotorua, visiting most of the principal North Island beauty spots en route, and motoring more than 900 mile's.' ' "
