Dance Recital

TO BE PRESENTED BY MISS OWEN GIBBS ON SATURDAY NEXT.

Another delightful surprise awaits residents of Palmerston North in the form of a dancing recital which will ,be presented by Miss Gwen Gibbs and the pupils of her Broadway School of Dancing on Saturday next at the Opera House. Miss Margaret Pegden and Miss Lorraino Major, both of wnom were successful in the last dancing championship examinations, will be seen in various items. The repertoire embraces many different dances including character, operatic, classic and eccentric tap. Also there will be enacted a new type of dance including modernistic German work, and an original and unusual ■■dance of the fans" by Miss Lorna McAffcr. A junior section illustrating a delightful ballet in “See me dance the Polka," an early Victorian number, will be alone worth seeing.' “Trees," a group number depicting the moods of trees in the wind, will be an added attraction that will provide an interest for all lovers of dancing.

The frocking is again outstanding, traditional costumes featuring in the national dancing. Patrons are advised to book early.
