Early Christmas Pension Payments Arranged
INCREASE IN OLD-AGE RECIPIENTS’ ALLOWANCE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Arrangements have been made by the Pensions Department for New Zealand pensions and allowances administered by the department to be paid a little earlier than usual during December. This year pensioners of all classes will bo able to receive pensions as from and including Monday, December 21. ‘‘l feel recipients will greatly appreciate the arrangement made,” said the Minister of Pensions, Hon. W. E. Parry, to-day. ‘‘lt will enable them to receive their money in ample time to complete their Christmas shopping.” The Minister added that old-age pensioners would receive an additional 2s 6d weekly from December I and that the increase would be paid out on December 21.
