Heavy Rain in Places
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. There is little change in the situa-, tion, the pressure having remained high to the north-east and low over the Tasman Sea and the South Isalnd. Winds: Moderate to strong northerly to north-westerly, reaching gale force in places about and south of Cbok Strait, later backing temporarily to westerlies or in places to south-wer,ter-lies. • Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough in Cook and Foveaux Straits and rather rough south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate strong northerly to westerly winds. Seas rather rough. Weather: Cloudy to overcast in western districts from Taranaki southwards, with intermittent rain, heavy in places; elsewhere mainly fair at first, but somewhat changed; later rain becoming more general. Temperatures mild.
