Tho Feilding Bowling Club is to officially open its season on . Saturday afternoon when many district clubs w r ill be represented by rinks. Tho death at Hastings on Saturday last of Mr. Alexander M. McKenzie, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. R. Bowler, of Feilding, removes a popular figure of tho East Coast town and one time of Marton. Ho came out to New Zealand as a young man and resided at Marton where ho entered the plumbing trade and during his residence in tho Rangitikei married Minnie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bowler. His passing at the age of 53 will bo deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends. Besides his widoiv, a family of one daughter and four sons are left to mourn their loss. At the Manchester Street School Parents’ Association quad dance on Wednesday evening the novelty numbers were won by Miss I. Melton and Mr. Peck and Mrs. Evans and Mr. Naylor.
