British Experiments In Road Surfaces

(British Official Wireless). RUGBY, Oct. 5. More than 60 experiments have been begun by the Roads Department of the Ministry of Transport under the guidance of the Technical Committee, with the object of finding the best materials for the construction and surface treatment of roads. These experiments relate to the determination of the best colour for road surfaces from the point of view of night driving, to the durability of various forms of top-dressing, and to the problem of skidding. They are being carried out in various parts of the country.
