Recreation Grounds and Baths’ Committee Report. The rushes and thistles want topping before they get away. The ground should now be rolled several times while it is fairly soft, and some impression can be made on it by the heavy roller. The surface is very uneven and unless this rolling is undertaken immediately the ground will be dangerous for cricket. The recommendations of your committee previously made for rolling during the winter have not been carried out. Baths.

The filter covering has been tarred to preserve the wood. The baths should now be thoroughly scrubbed with wire brushes and caustic soda, and afterwards painted with white medusa cement. Favourable comment was often made last season on the clean state of the baths, due to the attention given by the council, and this high standard should be maintained this year. The committee recommend the calling of tenders immediately for the painting of tho baths, two coats of steelite green on the outsido iron, while the dressing sheds should receive two coats of cream paint. .. The consent of the council is requested for the immediate putting in hand of this work. The committee further recommends that the council take over full responsibility of the baths, appoint the caretaker, fix the charges, receive all revenue, and hire the baths to any swimming clubs for carnivals,, etc.
