Sawmiller Dies From Injuries

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night,

Severe bodily injuries which proved fatal this evening wero received on Monday afternoon by Ernest Hayward Morris, aged 50, sawmiller, of Oxford. Some wood which he was cutting with a power saw flew up and part of it broke his ribs which penetrated his lung whilo the other part broke his chest bone and penetrated his windpipe. A specialist was called from Christchurch and though the lung injury was remedied the windpipe injury proved fatal. He was the proprietor of the mill where the accident occurred.
