CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night,

Damages amounting to £l6O were awarded by Mr. F. F. Reid, S.M., to Mrs. Caroline Thomas, who sought £3OO from the North Canterbury Hospital Board. She claimed that when sho was a patient in Christchurch Hospital she was badly burned through a hot water bottle being placed on her thigh while she was unconscious. The board had paid £IOO into court.
