Police Court, in an attempt to explain the reasons for a rpad accident, said, "The horse in an effort to miss the oncoming motor 'bus got into a frontwheel skid.” Wide Road Not Wanted? The Westmorland (Eng.) County Council has appealed to the Ministry of Transport to help preserve the roads in the Lake District, and, in particular, the Ullswater neighbourhood. It was suggested that a wide road of 60ft. running through the district would spoil its beauty. Cars and Cheese. It would seem a strange exhibition which, consisted of the products of motor manufacturers and butterr and joint exhibition in Birmingham, England, recently, to illustrate the produce which Birmingham and New Zealand exchange. Vehicles in Accidents. A return issued by Scotland Yard showing the type of vehicle involved in street accidents resulting in injury in the London Metropolitan Police District contains these figures : Pedal cycles, 4417 persons; private motor cars, 4334 persons; trade and commercial vehicles, 1836; motor cycles, 1823; omnibuses, 620.
