Combined Sports Meeting

Postponed last Saturday owing to tho weather conditions tho combined sports meeting will now bo held at the Showgrounds on Saturday next, October 10. Record entries have been received for the national and Highland dancing competition, and lovers of this form of entertainment will have tho opportunity of seeing some of Manawatu’s finest national dancers performing. Miss Gladys Smyth, of Hastings, has been appointed judge for this section of the programme. Very good entries for the cycling events have come to hand and, with the track in good order, this sport should prove an attraction. Trotting exhibitions, brass and pipe band displays, etc., should assure intending patrons of a good afternoon’s entertainment.
