lore Rain Coming Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An anti-cyclone is crossing northern New Zealand, while a fresh depression is advancing rapidly across the Tasman Sea. The pressure has risen considerably over Eastern Australia.
Winds: Northerly to north-westerly strong about Cook and Foveaux straits and in places reaching gale force, elsewhere moderate but increasing generally south of New Plymouth and Napier. A southerly change is setting in during to-night in the far south and extending over the Dominion within the next 2-1 to 36 hours.
Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough south of Capo Egmont and in the Cook and Foveaux straits areas; elsewhere slight to moderate but later rising on the East Coast of the South Island. Weather: Unsettled in the western and southern portions of the South Island with rain in many parts; elsewhere fair to fine at first but rain extending to most districts with tho southerly change. Temperatures: Mild but becoming cold during to-morrow.
