War Aco was third in the betting order for the hurdles and with a sustained run over the last half-mile he got up to top off OLaura King on the post. Youssipof was favourite but be could not do better than finish fourth. Miss Hushabye was first away and she set the pace for over a mile. Otaura King was in second place going through the straight and Royal King was third. Royal King hit one of the ; fence3 .very hard and he never looked likely after that. The field was strung out as they turned into the back and three furlongs from home Otaura King got through on the fence to lead into the straight from Miss Hushabye and War Ace. Otaura
King was first over the last fence but War Aco boat him in tho run to the judge, the margin being a neck. Miss Hushabye was third, five lengths away, and Youssipof was fourth. Golden Ridge Wins Easily. Lianc and Golden Ridge carried most money in the Maiden Plato and Golden Ridge, in front all the way, won decisively from Mirth and Old Surrey. Clear Vision and Geelong were slow away and when tho field had settled down tho order was Golden Ridge, from Mirth, Liane, Old Surrey and Sanhedrim. There was no change Into the straight and Golden Ridge never looked like getting beaten. There was a good tussle for the minor places and Mirth beat Old Surrey bya neck with Liane a similar distance away fourth. Then camo Mazzini, Gay Mulla and Sanhedrim. Airing Shows the Way. Export was favourite for the Ivatihiku Hack but he was beaten out of the money, the winner being Airing, who slipped the field three furlongs from homo and won very easily. The early order was Airing, from Export, Patagonia, Cricket and Revival. Cricket was knocked back at the fialfmile and Airing was six lengths clear at tho homo turn, being followed into the straight by Patagonia, Rustem, Export and Terry. In the run to the judgo Airing wos not allowed to loaf and ho won by fivo lengths from Rustem, who beat Patagonia by a neck. Terry was close up fourth and Export and Revival next. West Tor Finishes Well. Lapel Was Unlucky. Lapel was favourite for the Ling Memorial but after being last to leave the mark he fell just after the field had straightened up for the run to the judge. At tho time Lapel was within striking distance of tho leaders and he might have been able to wiu. West Tor was the favourite and he won nicely when • tho opening for tho run on the fence presented itself. Lapel, Gay Boy and Alight got the worst of the start and Round Score and Hazoor led past the stands followed by Lapel and Sunee, West Tor, Gay Boy and Might. The order was much the same into tho back and at tho halfmile Sunee made a fast run to join Round Score,'Who was 1 being ridden a new race for him. Lapel was next, on the fence, and Gay Boy and Hazoor followed. Round Score had the lead as they turned into the straight and he was closely followed by Gay Boy, Sunee, Lapel and West Tor,- Just below the distance Lapel “ broadsided” for some reason and after nearly going over the fence she fell. West Tor then got through and won by a longth from Round Score, who finished gallantly to retain a half-length advantage over Gay Boy. Hazoor was fourth over a length further back ana Sunee was next. Lord Moutoa—On the Bit. Fulojoy was favourite for tho open sprint but Lord Aloutoa bent. her into second place, the Foxton-trained gelding “coasting' ’ homo a couple of lengths ahead of Fulojoy. Royal Routine and Lord Aloutoa were first to break the lino and at tlie halfmilo Fulojoy was in third place. Coming to the straight Royal Routine was followed by Fulojoy, Lord Aloutoa and Severe. Royal Routine swung out turning into the straight, taking Lord Aloutoa with him. Then Fulojoy and Lord Moutoa went past Royal Routine and after a sharp tussle Lord Aloutoa got the upper hand and won easily by a good two lengths. Royal Routine, followed by Severe, was two lengths away from Fulojoy. Gladium. Boats Fiuuesko. Finnesko was favourito for the Pa hiko Hack but Gladium, the outsider of the field, beat him into second place. Lifeguard, Finnesko, Gladium and Eara was the order after the start but Finnesko drifted to fourth placo inside a furlong. Lifeguard was three lengths clear at the far turn and ho led into the straight followed by Eara, Gladium, The Sandwichman and Finnesko, who was going better. Eara was in cnargo naif way down the straight and Gladium, on the outer, and Finnesko were challenging, and in a’good finish Gladium beat Finnesko by half a length, the favourite being a neck In front of Eara. Lifeguard was fourth followed by Tho Sandwichman and Sea Wrack, Terry—Second Time Up. Warehi was favourite for the Alcrna Hack but Terry, having his second race of the day, and Windward, finished fast to beat him into third place. Sir Ronald was last to move, Warehi being the early leader from Taumau, Whetuma, Nightrunner, Windward, Terry and Sir Ronald. The order was unchanged into the back except that Windward and Whetuma had chauged places. Taumau joined Warehi at the five and they led into tho straight followed by Windward, Nightrunner and Terry almost in line. Tlie issue was still in doubt at tho distance out' Terry did best over the last bit and ho beat Windward home by a good length. Warehi was a length and a-haif further back followed by Sir Ronald and Whetuma. Royal Bengal Upsets Calculations. Deficit was a good favourite for the seven-furlongs ilutter but two furlongs from home he had no chance. Tne winner was Royal Bengal, the outsider. Royal Bengal was first out from Snowball and Jubilee Song and the leaders were unchanged into the straight, De-
licit, Hunting Lodge and Full Throttle following in-that order at the home turn. Royal Bengal never looked like being caught and he won well by two lengths from Snowball and Jubilee Song was over a length further back third. Full Throttle was fourth and Deficit last.
