SOME OF THE BEST IN “POOK .LITTLE RICH GIRL” (State: Now Screening.) Shirley Temple is Hollywood's ace “song-plugger.” During production of **Tne Foor Little Rich Girl,” Louis Silvers, head of the Xwentietn century-Fox music department, enumerated the various song hits that Shiriey has introduced to the screen. Her record to date is eighteen and, according to Silvers, many of these numbers aro bound to iind a permanent place in tho folk-songs of America. Just as children for years to come will sing of “the big bad wolf,” so will they warble ‘‘Animal Crackers in Aly Soup’’ and ‘‘On the Good Ship Lollipop,” Silvers believes. Two old classics were incorporated into Shirleys pictures, with added verses for the curly-haired star, and music publishers report an astoundingdemand for them—‘‘Love’s YoungDream,” from ‘‘The Little Colonel,” and ‘‘Folly Wolly Doodle,' from ‘‘The Littlest Rebel.’ , Since Mistress Temple made her bowjin feature pictures for Fox back in ! 1930, she has introduced the following S songs: ‘‘Baby Take A Bow” from |“ Stand Up aud Cheer;” ‘‘On Accounta : I Love You,” from ‘‘Baby Take a 'Botv,” ‘‘Laugh, You Sou of a Gun,” from ‘‘Little Alias Alarker;” “The j, World Owes Alo A Living,” w'ritten by ’lrving eßrliu for ‘‘Now and Forever”; ‘‘On the Good Ship Lollipop,” from ‘‘Bright Lyes;” ‘‘Love’s YouDg Dream” from ‘‘Tho Little Colonel;” ‘‘Our Little Girl” from the picture oi the sain- name; ‘‘Animal Crackers in ! Tho songs featured in ‘‘The Poor Little Rich Giri’ were written by i Alack Gordon and Harry Revel. Irving Cummings directed the production which, in addition to Shirley, features an exceptional supporting cast including Alice Faye, Gloria Stuart, Jack I Haley and Alichael Whalen.

Charlio Buggies is probably the screen’s greatest business man despite his funny, mouse-like personality in films. In addition to owning and operating a profitable oiange ranch, he is the proprietor of a thriving chicken farm, a dog shop, kennels and a dog feeding service. To these various enterprises ho devotes his entire time when not required at Paramount. <S> <S> <S> Norman Foster, featured with Brian Donlevy and Glenda Farrell in tho new 2Cth. Century-Fox picture, "High Tension," may soon retire as an actor if his present plans culminate. Foster is ambitious to be a director and producer, anad already has his first production 'n preparation. «> <B> <s> Among the many children who have seen "Poor Little Eich Girl" at tho State, where 200 were entertained on Saturday by tho theatre management and the Palmerston North Eotary Club.
