One had. the feeling of having crossed the .Russian frontier when entering the studios at Ristree recently, so realistic were tho settings. At one end a manor-house overlooked the gardens set out with Hawns, trees and shrubs, all typical of old Central Russia. On tlio lawns peasants danced and sang to Honour an aristocrat’s wedding. Incidentally, tho l'olk-dancing which forms so great a part in this liim was carried out by the famous Ballets do Leon Woizikovsky, at present playing at tho London Coliseum. Tins ‘‘Little Russia -had been constructed for a number of important scenes iii lovely Anna Hten’s first British film, ‘‘A Woman Alone.” It was in this setting that Maria, the little peasant girl (Anna liton) first meets Ilyinsky, the aristocrat whose wedding is being celebrated. The role of the young husoand will bo taken by none other than Henry Wileoxon, noted for stellar parts in many recent Hollywood productions. These two stars are supported in these scenes by Viola Keats, Guy Middleton and a huge crowd of 0ver.4,000 extras who appear as soldiers and peasants.
