Sleepwalker’s Adventure

Mr. Roy Laing, of the Royal Canadian Air Force, counts himself lucky to bo alive. A somnambulist, he lowered himself in his sleep from an express train speeding at 50 miles an hour and escaped with only a few scratches. The Halifax-bound Ocean Limited was travelling between Wellington and Grand Lake (Nova Scotia) when the incident occurred. Mr John McDermott, a passenger on the train, awoke from a sleep and was amazed to see a man hanging by his hands from an opposite window sill. Suddenly the man let go. Mr. McDermott pulled the communication cord and the express jerked to a stop. Mr. Laing was found hying between the rails, considerably awake. "I am troubled with somnambulism,” he explained. “I have often walked in my sleep before, but this is the first time I have ever climbed out of a moving train.”
