A HANDSOME MEMORIAL CHAIR.—Past and present members of tho staff of the Union Steam Ship Company have presented to tho board of directors this handsomely-carved memorial chair in memory of tho late Sir James Mills, founder of the company and for many years its managing-director. Tho carving was done by Mr. Pino Taiapa, of Wanganui, who is skilled in the traditional arts and crafts of the Maori.
